Polyimide (PI) fabrics have excellent high-temperature resistance and flame retardant capabilities, suitable for a variety of high-end application scenarios. Flame retardant viscose fabrics, based on having flame retardant characteristics, also have good moisture absorption and a soft touch. Pure aramid fabrics are more inclined to be applied in fields with extremely high requirements for high-performance flame retardancy and high strength, such as fire-fighting suits and aerospace. Modacrylic and modacrylic blended fabrics are suitable for making general industrial protection and daily protection clothing. Polyimide (PI) fabrics are mostly used in high-temperature and flame retardancy-demanding industries such as aerospace and electronics & electrical appliances. Flame retardant viscose fabrics, due to their comfort, are often used to make some civilian flame retardant products with high requirements for wearing experience, such as pajamas and household items. High-performance fiber PBO and PPS fabrics are mainly used in high-end protective equipment and special industrial fields. • What standards can the flame retardant effect of these flame retardant fabrics reach?

  The flame retardant effects of these different flame retardant fabrics meet different standards according to their materials and application scenarios. Aramid fabrics usually can reach relatively high flame retardant levels such as those required by UL certification and relevant NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and their Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) is generally at a high level. Modacrylic and modacrylic blended fabrics comply with the requirements of common domestic and international flame retardant standards for industrial protection and civilian protection, such as the corresponding regulations in EN standards (European standards). Polyimide (PI) fabrics have excellent flame retardant performance and can meet the strict flame retardant specifications in fields such as aerospace. Flame retardant viscose fabrics comply with the basic civilian flame retardant test standards and can also be customized to achieve a higher flame retardant grade according to specific customer needs. Modacrylic and modacrylic blended fabrics also have excellent durability and can withstand regular wear and the tests in industrial environments. Polyimide (PI) fabrics not only have strong flame retardancy but also have good stability and durability under harsh conditions such as high temperature and chemical corrosion. Flame retardant viscose fabrics focus more on maintaining comfort during wearing while ensuring a certain level of durability.   Although these fabrics have flame retardant properties, try to avoid direct contact with open flames or high-temperature sources for a long time to prevent damage to them. During the processing such as cutting and sewing, it is necessary to use appropriate tools and processes. For high-performance fiber fabrics such as PBO and PPS, special attention should be paid to the operation specifications to avoid fiber damage that may affect their performance.
